NORTHBROOK, ILL.—Michaels Stores Inc. has signed a 20,579-sq.-ft. lease at The Shops at Walnut Creek shopping center located in Westminster, Colo., a northwest suburb of Denver.
Northbrook, Ill.-based Pine Tree Commercial Realty owns and operates the property in partnership with Newport Beach, Cali.-based Buchanan Street Partners. Acquired in 2007, the joint venture completed development of the property upon taking ownership.
Other tenants at the center include Super Target, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, PetSmart and Golf Galaxy.
Michaels expects to open its new location early next year.
“This is a great fit for the shopping center,” said Pine Tree Executive Vice President Tim Roe. “Michaels will bring in new customers and provide additional goods and services for our current customers while we continue to improve the merchandising mix at the center.”
