Kaufman Org. Inks Lease for Lana Fashionwear

NEW YORK CITY—The Kaufman Organization recently brokered a seven-year, 12,880-sq.-ft. lease at 240 West 37th Street for Lana Fashionwear LLC, an all-inclusive brand and private label manufacturer.

Lana Fashionwear, launched in 1970, specializes in brand development, global sourcing and manufacturing for leading U.S., European, and Asian retailers and wholesalers. The company will take a product through its entire life cycle, from concept to manufacturing, until it is shipped to the store. Clients include Ralph Lauren, Anne Taylor, Saks Incorporated and Tahari. Lana Fashionwear is moving from two floors at 134 West 37th St. to one complete floor at 240 West 37th St. The new space will feature multiple showrooms, hardwood floors, high ceilings and oversized windows.

Although the terms of the lease were undisclosed, the asking rent for the space was $35 per sq. ft. Michael Heaner of the Kaufman Organization represented the tenant while Joseph Mangiacotti of CB Richard Ellis Inc. represented the landlord in the transaction.

Built in 1904, 240 West 37th Street is 10-story, 130,766-sq.-ft. building which features oversized windows, high ceilings, on-site security and on-site management. 240 West 37th St. is also home to Artichoke Café and iTB Securities.
