Granite Properties to Build Speculative Office Tower, Conference Hotel in Plano, Texas

Granite Properties broke ground for a 300,000-sq.-ft. speculative office tower and a 299-key four-star Hilton Granite Park conference hotel in Plano, Texas. The properties will be part of the existing 90-acre mixed-use development at Sam Rayburn Tollway and Dallas North Tollway.

The 12-story class-A office tower, known as Granite Park IV, will be built to achieve LEED Silver certification. The building will feature energy efficient building systems and exterior lighting elements. It will also have a fitness center, conference space, a five-level garage, extensive landscaped walkways and water features.

The 262,500-sq.-ft. Hilton Granite Park hotel will include 299 luxury rooms, 35,000 sq. ft. of conference space, a full-service restaurant, a retail shop, a fitness center and an outdoor pool and lounge. A pedestrian boardwalk along the waterfront will connect the hotel to the conference center and surrounding office buildings.

Granite Properties retained BOKA Powell to serve as the architecture firm on the project and Woodbine Development Corp. to serve as a hotel development consultant. The office tower and hotel are both scheduled for completion in mid-2014.

“We’re excited about this expansion of Granite Park and the chance to work with such an iconic brand as Hilton,” said Granite Properties COO Greg Fuller in a statement. “The nexus between Plano’s shortage of conference space and the office market conditions presented a unique opportunity for us to move forward with the Granite Park’s master plan.”
