The Assisted Living Federation of America, in association with three nationally recognized real estate, valuation and financing experts, has published Real Estate Transactions for Assisted Living. This is the third book in a series of eight.

The step-by-step manual walks the reader through the real estate transaction process from valuation approaches to managing the ownership transition. Legal documents, detailed due diligence check lists, a description of financing types and alternative methods to handle the transaction process are all included in the manual.

"We have attempted to synthesize in one volume the technical as well as practical steps and techniques required to complete the acquisition or sale of assisted living properties," said Mel Gamzon, president of Newton, Mass.-based Senior Housing Investment Advisors and the publication's lead author. "This is a specialized real estate endeavor where investor requirements must be balanced with staff and resident needs."
