Trigild Corp. This San Diego-based hotel company has appointed Carl Winston as executive vice president and COO. His responsibilities include day-to-day operations of all Trigild properties. Most recently, Winston served as senior vice president for Jeepers!, a family indoor amusement company.

CRESA Partners LLC William W. Goade was named chairman of this Boston-based commercial real estate advisory firm. Previously, Goade was founder and chairman of Avalon Partners, which merged with five other real estate firms to form CRESA Partners.

Entertainment Properties Trust This Kansas City, Mo.-based REIT has named David M. Brain COO in addition to his existing role as CFO. Prior to joining Entertainment Properties Trust, Brain was senior vice president of investment banking and corporate finance of Kansas City, Mo.-based investment banking firm George K. Baum & Co.

Kisco Retirement Communities Kayda Johnson has been appointed COO for this San Diego-based owner and manager of independent and assisted living facilities. In her new role, Johnson will oversee operations of several communities throughout the United States. Previously, she served as executive vice president and COO of Chicago-based Senior Lifestyle Corp.

Stirling Properties Di Anne P. Hoffman has been appointed assistant president of operations for this Covington, La.-based real estate firm. Her responsibilities will include property and construction management of Stirling's new Premier Centre and several other projects. Previously, she was with New Orleans-based Property One Inc. as manager.

Codina Group This Miami-based real estate development corporation has promoted. Ford Gibson from president of Codina Development to president and COO of the Codina Group. Rafael Rodon, president Codina Consulting, has been promoted to executive vice president of Codina Group. Robert Ferranti, formerly Codina Development Corp. senior vice president has been promoted to Codina Development Corp. president.

Ventana Property Services John H. Pringle has joined this San Mateo, Calif.-based real estate firm as COO. His responsibilities will include overseeing operations and management of Ventana's multifamily properties. Prior to joining Ventana, Pringle was vice president of property operations for San Jose, Calif.-based Avalon Bay Communities Inc.

Commonfund Realty William K. Krauch and Martin L. Budd have been named board trustees of Commonfund Realty, a subsidiary of Westport, Conn.-based Commonfund Group. Previously, Krauch was vice chairman and executive managing director of Los Angeles-based Westmark Realty Advisors. Budd chairs the business law department at Stamford, Conn.-based Day, Berry & Howard and practices securities and corporate law.

Corporate Office Properties Trust Roger A. Waesche Jr. has been named senior vice president and CFO of this Bala Cynwyd, Pa.-based REIT. His responsibilities include financial operations including treasury, information technology and financial planning. Prior to joining the company, Waesche served as finance manager for Baltimore, Md.-based Constellation Real Estate Inc.

Macfarlan Real Estate Services Richard R. Reupke has been appointed as CFO for this Dallas-based commercial real estate investment consulting and advisory firm. He will handle financing activities and oversee internal management of tax compliance, MIS/technology and insurance. Prior to joining Macfarlan, he was CFO for Dallas-based Columbus Realty Trust.

American Industrial Properties Lewis D. Friedland has been promoted to executive vice president and COO of this Irving, Texas-based REIT. He will be responsible for the company's investment activities and real estate operations. Prior to joining American Industrial, he was a founding partner of Herndon, Va.-based investment firm Crimson Partners.

Transwestern Rux Currin has been named vice president, development services in the Midwest region of this Chicago-based real estate firm. He will focus on new development opportunities. Prior to joining Transwestern, he was a senior assistant manager for Chicago-based Equity Office Properties.

Prentiss Properties Trust This Dallas-based REIT has promoted Michael A. Ernst to CFO. He will replace Mark R. Doran who is leaving to become CFO at Chicago-based Transwestern. Previously, Ernst was with Charlotte, N.C.-based Bank of America as vice president and treasurer.

Arbor National Commercial Mortgage LLC Ronald D. Gaither has been appointed COO and chief credit officer of this Uniondale, N.Y.-based lending institution. Prior to joining Arbor, Gaither was chief credit officer in the Chicago office of Pittsburgh-based PNC Mortgage.

Manorhouse Retirement Centers Inc. Kenneth J. Newell has been promoted from president and CEO to chairman and CEO of this Richmond, Va.-based retirement community development firm. Newell is a co-founder of Manorhouse Retirement Centers Inc.

Hardage Suite Hotels LLC This San Diego-based hotel company has named Edward M. Lake CFO of Hardage Suite Hotels and CFO of San Diego-based Woodfin Suite Hotels LLC, one of the all-suite properties owned by Hardage Suite Hotels. Previously, Lake was CFO of San Diego-based Optimay Corp.

Cushman & Wakefield (photo) This Chicago-based real estate firm has named Arnold C. Thomas managing director of new advisory services in the company's Rosemont, Ill., office. Most recently, he was director of strategic planning and logistics operation for Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola.

Clarion Capital Heather Mutterperl has been named vice president of this New York-based real estate investment firm. Prior to joining Clarion, Mutterperl was an associate asset manager and investment adviser at Stamford, Ct.-based Greystone Realty Corporation/Starwood Asset Management.

Frank J. Pasquerilla, chairman and CEO of this Johnstown, Pa.-based real estate company, died April 21 from a stroke at age 72. He became Crown American's president in 1953 and in the same year built his first shopping center in Johnstown, Pa.

He was considered a pioneer in the shopping center industry and was an ICSC trustee from 1983 to 1989. In 1961 he bought Crown American, which now owns, develops and operates 27 regional malls.

His son, Mark Pasquerilla, will succeed his father as chairman and CEO while maintaining his responsibilities as vice chairman and president.
