Witkoff picks Gillette; Beacon shines on Cypress

Broadband providers continue to land contracts with major property owners as landlords recognize the heightened need for the latest and greatest communications technology to better recruit and retain tenants.

The Witkoff Group, New York, has selected Gillette Global Networks Inc., also of New York, to provide in-building telecommunications and data services throughout Witkoff's 15 million sq. ft. portfolio. Under terms of the agreement, Gillette Global Networks gains access rights to The Witkoff Group's Class-A office buildings in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit and Dallas. Gillette Global Network will install a new fiber optic-based infrastructure in each building and provide high-speed broadband data and voice services to tenants.

Continuing a three-year relationship, Boston-based Beacon Capital Partners has selected Atlanta-based Cypress Communications to provide broadband voice and data services to more than 700,000 sq. ft. of Dallas office space. Cypress also serves Beacon's properties in Cambridge, Mass.

In addition to the Beacon agreement, Cypress signed licensing agreements in July and August for more than 1.4 million sq. ft. of office space in Boston; Columbus, Ohio; Denver; and Miami.
