EdR’s St. Louis Community to be Reconstructed Following Fire

ST. LOUIS, MO.—An apartment community located at 3949 in St. Louis will be demolished and reconstructed after a fire earlier this month. The property, owned by Memphis, Tenn.-based EdR, is used for student housing for St. Louis University students.

No one was hurt in the July 17th blaze.

All safety systems at the building performed as intended, and the fire is not suspicious according to preliminary reports from local fire officials. EdR will assist the St. Louis Fire Department as the investigation continues.

EdR purchased the apartment community in January 2012 for $28.45 million. The four-story apartment complex contained 256 beds in a variety of 197 studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments.

EdR is a self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust. The company owns or manages 62 communities in 23 states.
