ARTHUR DE HAAST has been appointed global CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels. He formerly served as European CEO for the Sydney, Australia-based firm. In his new position, de Haast will coordinate operations for 100 hotel specialists in 18 markets. De Haast replaces former global CEO Peter Barge, who will assume the role of CEO, Asia Pacific, while retaining responsibilities as global chairman for the hotel firm.

ROBERT PETERSON has been named president and CEO of Carter & Associates. Peterson, who joined the Atlanta-based firm in 2001, will run Carter's growing brokerage operations. He replaces former president and COO Tom Senkbeil who left the firm to pursue other investment opportunities. Peterson is the former founder of Peterson Properties and has held positions with CarrAmerica.

PATRICIA NOONEY, senior vice president of American Spectrum Realty Inc., has been elected president of the Institute of Real Estate Investment Management (IREM). The Chicago-based industry association is an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors and consists of more than 16,000 members in the asset and property management fields.

ALEC MONAGHAN has been named director of international operations for Cushman & Wakefield. In his new role, Monaghan will assist the New York-based firm's brokerage and corporate services professionals in developing international business. Formerly, Monaghan served as a broker in the firm's Philadelphia office and director of corporate services for the firm's Asia division.
