Carlyle Group, ClearRock Properties Acquire 920 Broadway

NEW YORK—The Carlyle Group LP, based in Washington, D.C., and New York City-based ClearRock Properties have jointly acquired 920 Broadway, a 106,000-sq.-ft., 17-story office tower at the corner of 21st Street and Broadway in the Flatiron District. The partnership acquired the property from Einstein College at Yeshiva University for an undisclosed amount.

The new ownership plans to invest more than $10 million for improvements to the property, which will include the creation of a new lobby, new elevators, updated HVAC system, updated restrooms and the implementation of energy conservation technology.

Jones Lang LaSalle’s Mitch Konsker, vice chairman, will oversee the property’s leasing along with Matt Duthie, managing director, who will oversee property management.

Constructed in 1916 and designed by Schwartz & Gross, 920 Broadway offers floor plates of 6,400 sq. ft.
