American consumers upbeat about economy

Worthington, Ohio – According to the Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey recently conducted by locally based BIGresearch and Deloitte Research, a division of Deloitte & Touche, consumers are confident that a strong economy will return next year.

Of the more than 5,100 consumers surveyed, 74% believe it is their "patriotic duty" to maintain their past spending patterns, and 70% plan to spend about the same as last year on holiday shopping.
