Melvin Simon, Shopping Center Pioneer, Dies at 82

Former President Bill Clinton today delivered the eulogy for billionaire shopping center pioneer Melvin Simon. Clinton described him as one of the most remarkable people he’s ever met. "He made a lot of money, but he didn't sit on it," Clinton said. "He shared it."

Simon founded Simon Property Group in 1960 in Indianapolis. The firm eventually grew to become an S&P 500 company and industry giant with interests in 325 retail properties in the U.S. comprising 246 million sq. ft. For more, click here. http://www.icsc.org/apps/news_item.php?id=2536
