- The San Francisco Port Commission awarded locally based The Mills Corp. negotiating rights for the development of 19 acres of waterfront piers on San Francisco Bay.
The project is a partnership of Mills and the YMCA of San Francisco for a 900,000-sq.-ft. mixed-use recreation venue on piers 27-31. The project will include 150,000 sq. ft. of recreational retail and dining, and it is expected to open in 2004.
