Zara Unveils Mega-Flagship at 666 Fifth Avenue

Following in the footsteps of neighbor Uniqlo, Spanish fast apparel retailer Zara has opened its largest store in the U.S. at 666 Fifth Avenue in New York City. The three-level store contains 32,291 sq. ft. of space and features five display windows and a façade spanning more than 75 feet.

Inside, the store contains two “catwalk” corridors on each floor that lead to boutique-like cubes showcasing specific clothes collections. What’s more, Zara’s new flagship comes with a number of environmentally sustainable features, including motion detectors that dim the lights when there are no people around, electronically-regulated air curtains near store entrances and an energy-efficient heating and air conditioning system.

Going forward, Zara plans to use 666 Fifth Avenue as the standard for its new stores worldwide.
